October 11th and 12th - 9am to 4pm

This a state certification. Must be able to attend all classes. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Minimum Requirements for Peer Recovery Coach:

  • 2 year substance free and lived experienced of Substance Use Disorder

  • Knowledge of 12 Step and/ or other pathways of Recovery

  • Be available to work on a contract basis with FAN/Hope Not Handcuffs (Position is not guaranteed)

Minimum Requirements for Family Recovery Coach:

  • Lived experienced with someone with Substance Use Disorder

  • Knowledge or experience with support groups (FA, Al-Anon, Nar-Anon, etc) preferred but not required

  • Be available to work on a contract basis with FAN/Hope Not Handcuffs (Position is not guaranteed)

Participants in this course will learn to:

  • Describe the rolls and functions of a recovery coach

  • List the components, core values & guiding principles of recovery

  • Build Skills to enhance relationships

  • Explore many dimensions of recovery and recovery coaching

  • Discover attitudes about self-disclosure & sharing your story

  • Understand the stages of recovery

  • Describe the stages of changes & their applications

  • Increase awareness of culture, power, & privilege

  • Address Ethical & Boundary issues

  • Experience wellness planning

  • Practice newly acquired skills
