Mario is a family man and entrepreneur in the healthcare field. His son, Yanni, died tragically in 2018 of a heroin overdose. Mario is passionate about providing the community with the education and resources it needs in order to promote recovery. He is always willing to collaborate with like-minded individuals.

Vice President  Term Exp. 12/21

As a nurse in Women & Children's Health for 25+ years, Dawn has worked firsthand with families and infants affected by addiction. Her daughter is a person in long-term recovery from heroin addiction. Dawn strives to raise awareness of addiction and to support individuals, families, friends who have been impacted by it. 



Secretary  Term Exp. 12/21

Scott has experienced the huge impact addiction can have on families, having both a sister and son in recovery. He has a background in manufacturing, emergency medicine (EMT), and volunteer firefighting. Scott is committed to working towards establishing the Hope Not Handcuffs program at our Washtenaw County chapter.

NATHAN MAIR Term Exp. 12/21


Nathan is the president of At Home Pharmacy in Ypsilanti, which provides in-home medication reviews and prescription delivery. As a pharmacist, he believes that healthcare workers can help prevent addiction by fostering strong relationships with patients, along with providing them with solid support and information.

JAMES BERG Term Exp. 12/20


James is the VP of Business Development at Helix Diagnostics, a toxicology and genetics diagnostic provider, with a focus on education of physicians and providers with drug testing guidelines. He has maintained sobriety since 2009. His greatest passion is helping other alcoholics and addicts through sponsorship.

CHAD BRUMMETT Term Exp. 12/20


Dr. Brummett is the Director of Pain Research and Director of Clinical Anesthesia Research at Michigan Medicine. He is also Co-Director of Michigan-OPEN, which aims to prevent chronic opioid use/misuse through the development of appropriate prescribing guidelines for healthcare providers, along with the organization and promotion of medication take-back events.

NANCY MASON Term Exp. 12/20


Dr. Mason is the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. She is involved with medication disposal events organized by the college, and is interested in preventing opioid addiction and improving access to treatment in the Washtenaw community.

STEVE FELDMAN Term Exp. 12/20


Steve has been in recovery since 1992. He is a coach and interventionist at Feinberg Consulting, an organization that helps coordinate care and develop highly individualized careplans for patients, which consider injuries, aging, addiction, and mental health. He has a passion for helping people connect to their purpose and meaning in life.



Molly is a person in long-term recovery from heroin addiction. She works at CHRT (Center for Healthcare Research & Transformation) at the University of Michigan where she is committed to developing better substance use and opioid policies. She also has experience working as a Detox Counselor and Recovery Support Specialist.
