CONGRATULATIONS!

You have taken the first step in addressing the addiction that is plaguing you and/or your family. The hardest part is acknowledging there is a problem that you cannot control and that your life has become unmanageable. You have come to the right place. Together we can effectuate change. Addiction is a community problem that affects everyone in our society. Recovery is possible but it takes the entire family and community to help make it happen.

If your life is affected by drugs, chances are we understand how you feel. Whether you are a person struggling with addiction, parent, brother or sister, friend, grandparent, aunt, uncle...a member of FAN has walked in your shoes and you are no longer alone.

There are others out there, much closer to you than you can imagine, who have or are going through similar experiences. Burying the problem and keeping a secret will only perpetuate the problem and the addiction. Addiction is clearly a disease and it happens to people in all walks of life, regardless of socio-economic status or ethnic background; and yes, it is in all of our neighborhoods.

Many of us never thought drugs would be an issue in our lives, but they are; and now we're at a loss as to what to do, who to talk to, or where to turn.

There are no easy answers and we all wish there was a magical cure. But until there is, we have each other and our shared experiences to help us through some very difficult times.

Don't wait until tomorrow, get help now. Together - no family or individual need suffer alone and together we can make a difference.
