HOPE NOT HANDCUFFS

FAN's flagship program, Hope Not Handcuffs, allows anyone who is struggling with a substance use disorder to go to any of 125+ participating law enforcement agencies or community partners and ask for help. FAN then dispatches a volunteer “Angel” to meet the participant at their location, offer support, and work with the Hope Not Handcuffs call center to assist the individual with getting placed into treatment.

Volunteer Angels are an integral part of Hope Not Handcuffs. If you’re a compassionate person who would like to be an Angel and make a difference in someone’s life, FAN can use you. The hours are flexible and the work is incredibly rewarding.

IMPORTANT: If you are interested in becoming an Angel for the Hope Not Handcuffs team, please follow the steps below and we will be in contact shortly. You must fill out and submit the Angel Application (under Step 1 below) before signing up for an Angel training session.

Questions: 833-202-HOPE (4673) or hnh@familiesagainstnarcotics.org.

If you are currently in recovery, please list your sobriety date and what programs you are working to maintain your sobriety under the Special Skills or Qualifications section. Any applicants with under two years of sobriety will be carefully reviewed by the Hope Not Handcuffs Committee. Thank you for your understanding.

NOTE: FAN requests a suggested donation of $10 to cover the costs of the Angel t-shirt and shipping. Information on how to make the donation will be sent following your training session, or you can donate in advance at THIS LINK.
